In mid-2022, I had the opportunity to appear at PagerDuty Summit in Sydney, where I participated in both a video interview and a panel discussion about how Nine uses PagerDuty to manage incident response.
The Interview#
I did a short video interview highlighting how Nine uses PagerDuty's services to respond to incidents faster. The key challenge we discussed was not just identifying problems, but quickly finding the right person to fix them in a large, merged organization.
The Panel Discussion#
I also joined a panel called "Delivering Value: A two-way street" alongside colleagues from Westfarmers One Digital and Carsales. We discussed how PagerDuty acts as the "glue" in our tech stacks, particularly around the "build it, own it" engineering philosophy and how we reduce toil through automation.
IT News covered the event in this article, which captures some of the key themes we discussed about incident response at scale in modern media organizations.
